St. Michael's Day - November 8, 2022
On November 8th, we held our annual celebration in commemoration of St. Michael, our patron saint, and in honor of the living and departed veterans in both our parish and community.
Father Timothy Hojnicki, Dean of the Frackville Deanery celebrated the Liturgy, while Father Vjekoslav Jovicic, from Holy Ascension Orthodox Church in Frackville, and Father Stephen Vernak, from Christ the Saviour Church in Harrisburg, co-celebrated the Liturgy. Father John Onofrey, from St. Herman of Alaska in Shillington, directed the choir, and Father Edward and Matushka Anna Hughes also joined us for the celebration.
Following the Liturgy, hundreds of names of departed veterans from the parish were read along with the names of living veterans in the parish to honor them for their service. Afterwards, we gathered in church hall for a free breakfast for all who attended.
